Bakhtiari
Bakhtiari from the nineteen twenties. A nicely balanced village rug with a simple repeating pattern with a floral field behind. 140x200 cm. Coming from the Zagros mountains west of Isfahan the rug is thick and strong known to be amongst the strongest Persian carpets. The pattern is loosely known as the ‘khesti’ or garden pattern divided into separate partitions, fifteen discrete medallion patches in this case.
